Unbonded Post-Tensioning Encapsulated Anchorage Systems
Our encapsulated anchorage system materials are produced from PTI (Post-Tensioning Institute) certified plants, meeting or exceeding all requirements of PTI and ACI (American Concrete Institute). Our plastic support chairs won’t corrode and therefore will not stain the bottom of the slab after form removal.
Galvanized 270ksi Barrier Cable
Barrier cable systems are typically much more cost effective than concrete bumper walls, CMU, and other methods of auto restraint. Our barrier cable materials include a variety of anchorage types and are shipped with a pack frame for easy installation at the jobsite.
Stud Shear Rails
Our stud shear rails meet all requirements of ACI and are color coded for easy identification and installation. We also provide support chairs to guarantee proper cover. Stud shear rails can also be used at the banded tendon anchor zones to eliminate the need for hairpins. This saves time in the installation process and also allows for easier concrete placement and consolidation.
Framing Systems
Post tensioning is an efficient and effective method of reinforcing concrete. A variety of framing systems can be used depending on the spans between supports and the loading conditions.
- Flat Plates are commonly used for spans up to 40'. Typical projects would include hotels and residential structures
- One-Way (beam and slab) are commonly used for larger spans. One-way structures are typically used for parking garages with spans between 60'-0" to 63'-0" to allow for column-free parking spaces.
- Podiums are used for heavy loads when the structural frame changes from concrete to another framing method such as light gauge steel or wood framing.
- Transfer Member is used to pick up the load from another framing member such as columns (which are not allowed to extend below) or beams to provide column-free areas underneath.
- Stage Stressing can also be utilized to further minimize concrete beam depths.

Budgeting
- We can assist with preliminary numbers to help provide you with a budget on the concrete frame cost.
- BPT Elevated can recommend a proper framing system for the spans desired.
- Budgeting can include not only post-tensioning requirements, but also the amount of reinforcing steel and stud shear rails.
Estimating
- We provide quantities based on the structural drawings provided.
- Quantities include the amount of post-tensioning materials, stressing pockets to patch, the amount of support and backup rebars required, galvanized barrier cable, and stud shear rails.
- Our estimates include a pour sequence which can assist you in providing a cost-effective method of pouring concrete in your structure.
Value Engineering
- We can provide alternates to the structural design shown in order to make the design more efficient by saving time or materials, thus saving money.
Design Assistance
- We can provide a complete structural design of your post-tensioned members using an easy-to-install, material-efficient design.
Field Installation Drawings and Calculations
- Our drawings are clear, concise and easy to read.
- Our drawings are provided in a timely manner to facilitate sufficient time for review, approval, fabrication time, and delivery.
Stressing Equipment
- We provide the most efficient stressing equipment on the market.
- Our stressing pumps are the SPX Power Team pumps known as the workhorse of the industry.
- Our stressing jacks are the 5DA1 power wedge seating with 4" nose pieces to facilitate stressing for regular and angled pocket formers.
- Our stressing equipment is freshly calibrated just before departure to the jobsite.
- Equipment is shipped in a lockable metal gang box for secure storage.
Jobsite Services
Inspections: BPT Elevated personnel are available for jobsite review of installation or for the first stressing operation to make sure that the stressing equipment is used correctly and safely.
Elongation Review: We can perform an elongation review to address any tendon that has not properly elongated. We can provide an elongation review letter.
Repair Procedures: Should there be a tendon that gets damaged during stressing or concrete that has a consolidation problem, we can assist with proper procedures for repair.
Construction Joint Layout and Sequencing: We can assist with the strategic planning of where concrete stops and starts and the logical, phased order of pouring different concrete segments.
PTI Certification
Our Houston, TX and Dallas-Fort Worth, TX locations are both PTI-certified plants; we meet or exceed all specifications in the Post-Tensioning Certified Plant Program. We have been in good standing with the PTI Certified Plant Inspection Program since our start in 2001, and we always receive a top grade on our twice-yearly PTI inspections. In fact, both of our locations have scored 100% on our inspections every year from 2014 to 2018!

- All cable orders include necessary PT hardware for your cable package and stressing done 7 to 10 days following the completion of your pour.
- Stud Shear Rails
- Galvanized Barrier Cable
- Galvanization prevents rust and corrosion, making barrier cable ideal for outdoor use, and the wire steel strands are strong enough to withstand impact.
- Hardware includes galvanized steel strands and fittings and connectors for tension and anchoring. Supporting hardware includes tensioning jacks, intermediate cable supports, and splice chucks.
